I have been praying a lot for my friends (previous post) and their search for spiritual unity. I found out yesterday that they were high school sweethearts and he is eligible for Medicare today. That gives you an idea of their commitment to each other and the timeframe we’re talking about. I have prayed that the Lord will open their minds to many possibilities, and loose their hearts from any strongholds of routine.
I hope this journey will be a fresh look at their relationship with Christ. A time to lean on the strong marriage that God has blessed them with and a realigning of their faith. I am not leaving out the possibilty that they will find solace in their familiar Episcopalian sanctuary. As I spoke with my friend about realizing the value of the voyage, he got a perceivable gleem in his eye.
I wish I could be a mouse in a pocket. My fascination with how God works in the life of an obedient servant is brimming over with expectation. Please don’t misinterpret my enthusiasm for insensitivity. I am praying constantly that this trial will be filled with the blessing of discovery and void of lasting pain. I know God has wonderful plans for this vibrant, caring couple.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. Jeremiah 29:11-13
Please pray with me for these dear friends and for their granddaughter who is battling cancer. Thank You all!
